Alexander McQueen has died…
The 40 year old designer was one of the most talented designers of his generation. Born in the East End in 1970, McQueen studied at Central Saint Martins and trained on Savile Row where he famously wrote messages in the linings of suits being made for HRH the Prince of Wales. Hew as named British Designer of the Year in 1996 when he was just 27 in 1977.
He was a unique designer, who had talent, who sadly took his own life a week after his mother’s death.
He used to make dresses for his 3 younger sisters and then decided to become a fashion designer. Alexander McQueen's early runway collections developed his reputation for controversy and shock tactics (earning the title "l'enfant terrible" and "the hooligan of English fashion"), with trousers aptly named "bumsters", and a collection entitled "Highland Rape". McQueen was known for his lavish, unconventional runway shows, such as a recreation of a shipwreck for his spring 2003 collection, spring 2005’s human chess game and his fall 2006 show, Widows of Culloden, which featured a life-sized hologram of supermodel Kate Moss, dressed in yards of rippling fabric.
McQueen succeeded John Galliano as head designer at Givenchy in 1996. His first couture collection with Givenchy was unsuccessful, with even McQueen telling Vogue in October 1997 that the collection was “crap”. McQueen toned down his act at Givenchy, but continued to indulge his rebellious streak, causing controversy in Autumn 1998 with a show which included car-robots spraying paint over white cotton dresses, and double amputee model Aimee Mullins striding down the catwalk on intricately carved wooden legs.
By the end of 2007, Alexander McQueen had boutiques in New York, London, Los Angeles, Milan, and Las Vegas.

Yes the Peg Leg Trousers are here, and I must admit I quite like these. Living in jeans is always nice, easily dressed up and down and versatile. But I’ve always had a secret thing with trousers, but awfully picky about them, and the Peg Leg ones have caught me up. I brought a pair after having looked at them in the shop window until they came in to the sale, and then I pondered and went in and they were down from £20+ to £5! Well now of course I must have them! So I did… and I love them.
They look amazing with high heels and look so quietly glamorous, and you needn’t be stick thin to pull them off like some, teemed with a blouse they look good. I wore them out with friends for dinner and everyone said how nice they were. And I quite agree, they do look nice. Easily worn for spring/summer they will be a cool nice definite for my wardrobe, and I’m planning on getting quite a few pairs. They will also make a good transition from the horrid awful rainy weather that at least here we have, and into that little bit warmer slightly sunnier start of spring. So they seem well worth the money.

Spring/Summer 10 is set to be full of pastels, patterns, and bright makeup.

Soft feminine fabrics with pastel pinks,blue's and lavenders to create a flirty, girly costume. These look amazing when walking down the high street and as they are usually made in light fabrics move with the body in a gorgeous way that you can't help but notice. Detail is definitely being put into them!
Digital print dresses are also in, odd eye catching prints on dresses are unique and will keep you feeling fresh and free this spring/summer,wear with leggings during the spring and transition with this dress into summer, or show of your pins with some high summer shoes and wear without leggings underneath that glorious British summer which will eventually pop out to see us!
Nautical patterns are still all in too! so for once you can drag out those lovely clothes you brought last year and re-match and restyle them a little and no one will know you didn't buy them fresh from the store. Saves money and just a little time.
Bright eye-catching make up is back in! Bring back those pinks,oranges,greens and hot pinks! if you can catch the eye then your in trend!It's been featured in Vogue and it will be a good look to match those digital prints and to set off those flirty dresses and skirts in those fresh pastel colors. Just be careful how you do it otherwise they may think the circus is in town!

First ever blog. Just a little bit excited though not exactly sure what to write. But i guess what this Blog is going to be about is a good start really. I'm going to try and show you lot's of ways to make money, show you lot's of things in Fashion, since fashion would enter into it someway cause i'm a bit like that. And also try and show you ways to make cheaper versions of things from Designers who design £500 shoes for us to look at and wish for. So we shall try to out do them! (:
